STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The Bronx County Bar Assn. will award two (2) scholarships, in
the amount of $3,000.00 each, to eligible 1st, 2nd and 3rd year law
school students who are domiciled in Bronx County. Applications
must be received by Feb. 2010.
Applications will be available in December 2009 and mailed to Financial Aid Officers
at the end of this year.

BERNHEIM
MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP
The Honorable Peggy Bernheim was elected to Bronx Civil Court in 1977
and then in 1999 to Supreme Court. She was an outstanding jurist
who always made a difference on the bench and to her legal colleagues.
This Scholarship will be awarded annually. Applicants interested
in applying for this scholarship should pay particular attention to
the question regarding athletic experiences, skills and
accomplishments.

LENSCH MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP
Craig Lensch was a practicing
defense lawyer in Bronx County for over 15 years. He worked as
an Assistant District Attorney for Mario Merola for 6 years.
Craig passed on at age 46 of colon cancer. This scholarship was
created by his friends and colleagues who respected him for his
intellect and good humor. It is awarded annually.

MEMORIAL
"COURAGE" SCHOLARSHIP
The Gerald V. Esposito Memorial "Courage" Scholarship will be awarded
to a Bronx resident, who has been accepted by a college or university
and who has displayed the type of courage demonstrated by Justice
Esposito in his lifetime. Students who have worked to promote programs
or issues for the greater good in the face of opposition or pressure
to the contrary.
Please advise your friends and associates of this Scholarship. In
order to apply for the Scholarship a letter or composition setting
forth the applicant’s accomplishments and courageous qualities should
be sent to the Bronx County Bar Association, 851 Grand Concourse, Room
124, Bronx, New York 10451, attn.: Alan B. Friedberg, Esq.,
Scholarship Committee Chairperson.
