VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR

LAW DAY -- OUTREACH

TO MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

IN BRONX COUNTY

on

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

The Bronx County Bar and Judiciary consider Law Day an opportunity to reach out to the young people of Bronx County and let them know that we care about them and their futures.

We want the our Bronx students to know the opportunities that are available

and remind them of their responsibilities.

This year's theme is

THE RULE OF LAW

Foundation for Communities of

Opportunity & Equity

The Law Day Outreach Program pairs attorneys with Judges to visit  middle or high schools in Bronx County for a 45 - 60 minute presentation.  The presentations cover a myriad of topics including: the law day theme, careers in the judicial system, our constitution, and topics suggested by the particular school's administration. The school programs are scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and the audience can range

from 30 to 100 students.

On the morning of May 1st, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. there will be a kick-off breakfast for the participating Judges and Attorneys in the Library of our Association.
